Meet Ms. A
Hello there! I'm Candace Alexander, and I'm thrilled to share my journey in education and my exciting future plans with you.
I was born in the vibrant city of St. Louis, Missouri, where my love for teaching and early childhood education first began. It was in the heart of the Midwest that I took my first steps toward a fulfilling career.
After completing my early childhood education studies at Murray State University, I earned a Bachelor of Science degree, paving the way for my adventure in education. I kicked off my teaching career by working with the littlest learners in pre-K, back in my hometown. Witnessing the endless curiosity and boundless potential in those young minds was an inspiration and set the stage for my passion for education.
I later moved to Houston, Texas, where my journey in education took a new turn. I started teaching kindergarten and later moved into middle school math intervention. This role provided me with the opportunity to work closely with students who needed additional support, and I found immense joy in helping them grasp complex mathematical concepts.
One of the exciting aspects of my teaching journey has been my venture into blended learning. Blending traditional teaching methods with technology, I incorporated learning management systems and interactive learning sites into my classroom. These tools have proven to be incredibly engaging for students, making learning an interactive and enjoyable experience. Seeing students light up with enthusiasm as they navigate their way through blended learning activities has been a rewarding part of my career.
But my journey doesn't stop here. I'm currently working on my Master's in Education in Applied Digital Learning, which I believe will take my expertise in blended learning to the next level. This advanced knowledge will allow me to better leverage technology and digital tools to create even more dynamic and effective learning experiences for my students.
My ultimate goal is to show other teachers and professional companies how blended learning is not just a useful tool but a necessary component in all classes. It's about harnessing the power of technology to engage students and personalize their learning journeys, whether in pre-K or high school. I aim to be a leader in advocating for the integration of blended learning techniques to make education more effective, engaging, and accessible for all.
